OK. Finally I can show you my design which I produced about year ago. It was commisioned work for INDIKA - ENTERTAINMENT ADVERTISING agency. It was a great privilege to work with guys responsible for THE PIANO, PULP FICTION or OCEAN'S TWELVE campaign. They wanted me to create movie poster for apocalyptic movie THE ROAD based on Pulitzer winning novel by Cormac McCarthy. It was very creative time and 8 hours time zone difference between my hometown, New York and LA where INDIKA work. So I spend lots of night hours on creating some moods which are very close to my favourite themes in my pictures. I tried to catch dark, apocalyptic mood more appropriate to the book but based on some studio materials and photos from the set but it was not enough for producers and unfortunately my designs was rejected and now u can see official posters everywhere. It's more obvious and simple hollywood design...but maybe I'm wrong. So u can compare vision of art by professionals here [link] to my vision here on DEVIANTART. Enjoy!
So beautiful, it's heart breaking--much like book, so I've been told. Watching them walking together, hand in hand, with the little one trying to keep up just grabs me. Excellent work, Karezoid.
I think that they didnt choose yours due to a marketing issue. If you compare your poster with the official one, you would notice that the official one catch your attention before yours. But your design is beatiful, its only about marketing.
Hey this is totally brilliant, far superior to the frankly poor Hollywood poster. I hope you don't mind, I just featured this on my blog ([link]) - I've linked back but please let me know if you'd rather I removed it
I loved the movie.
